BBQ NEWS
Hello Everyone,

This is the first BBQ News for 2010.
I’m still on holiday for another week, I could get used to this!

BBQ School Dates:
I’ve put together a plan for BBQ School for the first two months of the year including the Advanced class:
Sat Jan 23  Introduction to BBQ 9:00am till 4:00pm
Sat Feb 6  Introduction to BBQ 9:00am till 4:00pm
Sat Feb 13  Introduction to BBQ 9:00am till 4:00pm
Sat Feb 20  ADVANCED  BBQ 9:00am till 4:00pm

As usual, numbers are limited and demand is high, so make sure you book early.
If you have a gift voucher, check to see if it has a number, if not you need to let me know when you book, and tell the person you got the voucher from so they can organise payment.  From now on Gift Vouchers are numbered and pre-paid.

Both BBQ School (introduction to BBQ) and the Advanced class are $220 for the full day.

BBQ School is available as a private class if you have enough participants, there is also a short 3 hour version for private groups, teambuilding and retail demonstration.  Call me to find out more about the private class.

WEBSITE:
With this BBQ News I launch the new website, now you know what I’ve been doing with my holiday!
The new website has an upgraded Shop, I have been able to source some great new products which will be sold through the Griller Shop, there will be regular updates as products arrive and get included in the website.  This is a new direction for Urban Griller, I got sick of having to buy the things I wanted from overseas because they are not stocked here in Australia.  I’m setting most of the products up as agency agreements, which means I get some exclusivity and as they become popular I can try to get them shelf space in a retail chain.  It is an exciting shift for me.
The first major product is a Cast Iron Grate replacement for Weber Kettle and Kamado/Big Green Egg.  A really good design with lift out grill and griddle panels, the grate gets hotter than the standard wire grill so you can sear steak properly without the risk of overcooking and roasts cook more evenly, the steak has a spectacular grilled flavour like you would get in a good restaurant.

Australian BBQ Association.
In the coming months the ABBQA will start to get its feet and will become active.  We held our first election a couple of months ago and I was elected its first President.  The purpose of the Association is to give the BBQ industry a voice, to promote BBQ education and to coordinate BBQ cooking competition in Australia...........yes I know, a big job!

Australian BBQ Forum:
Don’t forget the Australian BBQ Forum is a good place to go for advice and BBQ recipes or news: <http://www.aussiebbq.info/forum/index.php>

The forum is full of people with an interest in BBQ, who are only too happy to share their knowledge, you will find a number of my recipes and fact sheets there.

Well that’s it for now....hope the New Year brings you all BBQ Joy!
